Lexington Survivors of Suicide Loss Group

Feb 17, 2015

I am not really sure who may have used the word “Survivors” to describe families and friends who have lost the person they love from suicide.I feel the word “Survivor” is the best way to describe what we all try to do after loss by suicide. If you are struggling in any way with this loss and you feel how will I go on thru this unrelenting pain or just how are you going to move forward without this love one…Please know that this feeling is normal, but their is help.Rebecca Sanford has a great program for “Survivors of Suicide” in Central,Ky located here in Lexington.Shelby’s Way supports this program and believes Rebecca is doing great work helping folks with all the feelings that surround this loss,it’s a group feel with others that share in your grief and sadness.

Rebecca sent this updated information to me about the Lexington Survivor of Suicide Loss Support Group. They now have two group meeting times and locations to better serve survivors of suicide loss in central Kentucky.Rebecca’s Monday evening group will continue to meet weekly at Good Shepherd Episcopal Church, and she is adding another meeting on the second Thursday of the month at Andover United Methodist Church. The Thursday group may increase in frequency depending on interest and attendance.

The attached flyer provides more information about both meetings. Please feel free to distribute the flyer to anyone who may be interested in attending the group. If you have any questions about the group, you can reach Rebecca at this email address or on her cell at (216) 410-3724 here is Rebecca’s info attached:
