We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful spring day for our 3rd Annual Swingin’ Fore Shelby Charity Golf Scramble than what the Lord gave us on April 26th.The weather,days prior were raining and cold…a hour after the scramble on my way back to the shop,the sky’s opened up and rained all week.We started with a short intro Thanking everyone for coming out,explaining the rules and what holes would be eligible to win prizes.This year we limited mulligans to 4 per team and I think that worked out well and was fair for all.We had 13 teams this year participating from different areas of business and the community…with teams from Paul Miller Ford,Fortune Collision Center,WKYT 27,S&S Tire Wholesale and a S&S Tire Sales Team,Major Brand Tires from Mt.Sterling Ky,a returning team from BPM Lumber in London,Ky,Jim Bryant returned this year with a team from his business Fleet Doc,All Star Sports from Winchester,Ky and other individual supported teams.I believe everyone had a great time on the course fellowshipping with one another,supporting our non-profit “Bringing Awareness to Suicide Prevention” and now have a better understanding on how we use all money raised in our community and beyond.After everyone finished their game we all relaxed with a great lunch prepared by the ladies at the Kearney Hills Golf Links Clubhouse.We presented the golf bags provided and sponsored by Bridgestone/Firestone to Scott Calihan and Darren Conn for Longest Drives on holes 7 & 14 along with Gary Scarborough and Jim Bryant for Closets to the hole on 2 & 15.This years Swingin’ Fore Shelby winning team with a 58 score from Paul Miller Ford…Fred Sizemore,David Wilson,Dustin Sparks and Eric Duncan were Presented with our Famous Chromed V8 Trophies built by Shelby’s Speed & Kustom with Plating provided by Jon Wright owner of Custom Chrome Plating in Grafton,Ohio. Congrats to our winning team and those winners of the golf bags.Everyone involved in this years scramble has made it possible for Shelby’s Way to continue our Charity work,whether it’s Outreach and Bereavement,support for our Survivors of Suicide or any of the financial needs by our clients,including funeral burials.Everyones efforts,sponsorship and participation this year helped us raise $10,000….Thanks to all of you and I hope you return next year for the 4th Annual Golf Scramble on April 25th 2017.God Bless all of you for Blessing others!
